The Fishers of Men ministry was started by Minister Thomas W. Hogue Sr. who had a calling and a heart for those in need. Nearly forty years ago, while outside looking at the stars, The Lord spoke to Thomas Hogue‘s heart and said that He would give him a ministry to the homeless and a church without walls, and from that time, Thomas faithfully lived out that promise as a "Fisher of Men" (Matthew 4:19). The Lord has always sustained the work of this ministry through support from numerous churches, grocery stores, volunteers and, of course his amazing and incredibly gifted wife, Barbara. Thomas went home to be with The Lord on April 6, 2021, and today we carry on his legacy. A legacy that has provided its volunteers a platform to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the homeless of the greater Sacramento region.

Thomas was an evangelist and his heart was always for souls to come to know and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We know that at his Heavenly Home Coming there were many souls who entered in to glory before him but were there to greet him because of his tireless efforts. And of course, there will be many others, who at the time of their passing through the veil into eternity will first be met by The Lord and then by Thomas with arms wide open. Thomas was a Godly man and a gifted evangelist who would seek out those that were in need. Those that were blessed to serve alongside him knew him as a man that would often drive the streets in the late night and early morning hours looking for those in need of food and encouragement.

Over the years we have been blessed to serve the community from several locations, we have transitioned from having food prepared and delivered to us, to setting up a single stove to cook some eggs and sausage, to multiple stoves then to serving inside a building and having church services but just like many of our guests the Lord has continued to move us from location to location and each time He makes it evident why it was time for a change.

Come and join us in this next chapter so you to can say remember when ..................................
